There are several villages in Lombok that offer tours in indigenous Sasak Villages such as in Baleq Village or Sade. This village is home to the traditional Sasak original architecture. 2. Pusuk Sembalun Tourist Park

Pusuk Sembalun is part of Rinjani Forest and is located on the foot of Mount Rinjani. The picturesque panorama of Mount Rinjani can be enjoyed from Pusuk Sembalun Park if you don’t plan to climb Mount Rinjani all the way to the crater. At the height of 1.250 meters above the sea level, Pusuk Sembalun offers unhidden beauty of stretching mountain, hills and rice fields, and strawberry garden along the way! Bring your lunch and have a picnic in one of the gazebos with beautiful surroundings. But stay alert for the wild monkeys around the area!

3. Segara Anak Lombok

Lake Segara Anak is a crater lake on the west side of Mount Rinjani. This lake is another way to enjoy Mount Rinjani where you can camp next to the lake surrounded by a lush green forest. The lake is part of the local myth that if you look into it, you might be able to predict your future. No matter how you look at it, the lake stays serene and calm!

4. Learn to Surf at Selong Belanak Beach

Selong Belanak has been admired as one of the most beautiful beaches in Lombok. This place is known for its white to a golden sandy beach and its calm nuance and is stretching along the crescent bay. The waves are great for beginners and so you might want to learn to surf here. There are small stalls where you can rent a surfboard and learn how to surf from an instructor!

5. Semeti Beach Lombok

Semeti Beach is one place you can’t miss during your visit to Lombok Island. The beach offers breathtaking volcanic formations along the beach. The formations then create small pools, bays, and blowholes. This beach is more secluded and usually, there aren’t many tourists here. Try to climb the rock where it isn’t dangerous and admire the amazing scenery. 

6. Snorkel at Pink Beach/Tangsi Beach

Tangsi Beach is also referred to as the Pink Beach by the locals. The name derives from the pink shade of the sand although it’s more of a peachy beige color. The pink color is made of tiny red organisms that grow on the dead coral. One of the most prominent activities in Pink Beach is snorkeling where you can see the wonderful marine life underwater, you can also canoe along the bay!

7. Visit Pearl Farming

Lombok is famous for its pearl farm, therefore visiting pearl farm should be on your bucket list in Lombok! Look for Pearl Farm where you can see the pearl cultivation, seeing many of pearls in the showroom and definitely buy one of that shiny stuff to bring home!

8. Adore the Benang Kelambu and Benang Stokel Waterfalls

Benang Kelambu Waterfall showing off gushing water from the heights of 20 meters above the ground. The name of Benang Kelambu derives from the curtains of water through trees and green plants as it falls down the pool below. Imagine such a view, and you can even swim in the pool at the base of a waterfall. You can also visit Benang Stokel waterfalls, its twin that is only located 1 kilometer away!

9. Tanjung Aan Lombok

Tanjung Aan is another perfect spot to sunbathe, swimming, surfing, snorkeling, and relaxing all in one dreamy place. This paradise is made of hills surrounding two bays and beaches completed with soft white grains. Along the calm shore is dotted with restaurants serving fresh local delicacies and refreshments. 

10. Celebrate Bau Nyale Festival

Bau Nyale Festival is a tradition dated back to the 16th century where the locals harvest Palolo sea worms (Nyale worm). It celebrates King Tonjang Baru’s daughter named Princess Mandalika that ruled kingdom in South Lombok Island. The legend says that Princess Mandalika jumps into the sea to avoid forced marriage with the princes who wished to marry her.  The worm is believed to be the embodiment of Princess Mandalika.
